There were (to my knowledge) no software updates or anything else taking place. The internet just suddenly stopped.

The device manager detects the adapter and says working properly. I've plugged the adapter into several other computer and it does detect the adapter. When you try to connect the computer says it cannot detect a network.
Nov 08, 2019 · Update the network adapter driver software to a newer version if one is available. If it's already running the latest version, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the driver or rolling the driver back to a previous version. It might seem impossible to check the internet for outdated network drivers when the network can't reach the internet.
